The Role:

As Brava’s User Insights Projects Associate, you will be on the front lines in engaging with our users through all stages and aspects of developing the Brava Experience. We’ll especially lean on you at the outset of “research sprints”. In those moments, you’ll be in responsible for recruiting, and coordinating communication with research participants in our core demographic. We strive to make research participants feel like they are getting more out of the experience than we are getting from them. Because of this, having a creative flair and community oriented mindset is key.


Things You'll Own/Do:

  • Manage logistics for ongoing user research and testing

    • Recruit participants for usability tests

    • Manage logistics and communications throughout testing

  • Curate a community of highly engaged and committed beta testers

    • Recruit participants for our beta testing programs

    • Manage logistics and all communications throughout testing (long-term)

    • Develop and maintain relationships between Brava and our beta testers

    • Conduct user interviews

  • Assist in planning project requirements of all user research projects (both quantitative and qualitative) including:

    • Hardware and software usability testing

    • Beta program

    • Ethnographic research

  • Assist in executing user research projects

    • Conduct usability testing (hardware and software)

    • Conducting in-depth user interviews

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (primarily Customer Care, Product, Content, Culinary) to ensure our research and insights are fast, fluid, and scalable at all times – and to augment user testing program to gather insights for other departments

  • Become an expert on our users, their behaviors, and their needs


Our Ideal Candidate Has:

  • 2+ years communications, recruiting, customer care, administrative, or project management experience

  • Experience and familiarity with our target demographics

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, an ability to engage effectively

  • Excellent organization skills, highly detailed with an ability to work fairly independently on a variety of tasks

  • Ability and desire to wear many hats, learn quickly and change direction when needed

  • Innate curiosity and ability to self-start in an ambiguous and rapidly-changing startup environment

  • Ability to prioritize time between multiple projects, and be flexible by adapting to changing schedules and different projects

  • Passion for food, eating, cooking and, of course, our users


Bonus Points For:

  • An ability to put others at ease and create a space where they are comfortable providing feedback

  • Experience doing home studies, interacting with families in their homes and in the community

  • Experience moderating user studies including usability studies and user interviews

  • Demonstrated success working on B2C products

  • Proficiency in collecting, synthesizing and incorporating user feedback, and mapping it to the overall product vision and roadmap

  • Interest in building a career in user experience research
